In 2020, Michael Burgess noticed that the way the world wanted to work had changed, but the accounting profession had not.

Meet the CEO
Global Experience in big and small business
Michael Burgess is a former CFO, COO, Global Controller and Management Consultant with a background in International blue-chip banking organizations in New York, London, Zurich, Geneva, Dubai and Sydney.
He has experience at the Board of Director and Audit Committee level of publicly listed companies, including investor and media relations, quarterly results releases and print/television interviews.
Michael spent most of his career with Morgan Stanley around the world, as well as leadership roles at Credit Suisse, Macquarie and Shuaa Capital where he was CFO of Dubai’s Largest locally-owned Investment Bank in the eye of the storm of the Global Financial Crisis. In addition to leading Bravo Squared, Michael is the Fractional CFO for a number of startup Bravo Squared clients and leads their outsourced finance teams.
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and earned his Law Degree and Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
Nick Herne - Head of COO and CRO
Dr Nick Herne is the Global Head of our Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer Divisions. Nick brings his wealth of experience to Bravo Squared, having previously been an industry leader in Chief Operating and Chief Risk Officer roles at Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Merrill Lynch. More recently, Nick has been in COO and CRO roles in Fintech and Decentralized Finance with Percapita and Fnality.
